Who we are

Resilience Companion is a readiness and weather-alert service operated by Cognitive Corp on behalf of the ISSA Sustainability Committee. This policy explains how information is handled when you use this website, its member workspace, or its text-message alerts.

Privacy contact: Cognitive Corp, 8520 Allison Pointe Blvd, Ste 220, Indianapolis, IN 46250, USA · alex@cognitivewx.info.

Who owns member data

Under the program agreement between Cognitive, ISSA and Green2Sustainable, ISSA owns the information that members and their organizations provide through the program (“member data”). Cognitive processes member data to operate, secure, support and improve the program. Cognitive does not sell member data.

If the program ends, member data is returned to ISSA, and Cognitive keeps its own copies only as described under “Retention and security” below. If you hold a paid subscription and choose to continue it directly with Cognitive, Cognitive will keep your data for that purpose only with your consent.

Information we collect

  • Account details, including your name and email address.
  • Organization, facility, assessment, action-plan, and resilience-record information you choose to provide.
  • Crew contact details entered by an authorized organization manager, including name, email, mobile number, work location, language preference, and text-consent status.
  • Alert location and weather-risk information needed to provide requested alerts.
  • Limited technical and usage information used to secure and improve the service.

How we use information

We use information to operate the service, provide weather and emergency-readiness alerts, send manager-authorized crew messages, maintain consent and opt-out records, support member workspaces, process subscriptions, prevent misuse, and improve reliability.

Written AI assistant

Questions you type into the written assistant, and its answers, are processed by our hosting platform provider and its third-party AI model providers to generate replies. We keep a record of each conversation on our servers, with each message shortened to a set length, so that replies stay consistent and the service can be secured. The assistant can be wrong; do not share passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, or unnecessary sensitive information with it.

AI video guide

The optional Resilience Companion video guide is AI-rendered, not a real person, and may make mistakes. Tavus and its video-conferencing provider, Daily, process live microphone audio and technical call data to provide the conversation. Your camera is off by default and is not needed. We do not enable conversation recording or emotion recognition.

AI and conferencing providers may process data through infrastructure or subprocessors in other countries, subject to their contractual and security safeguards. Do not share passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, or unnecessary sensitive information with the guide.

Optional assistant memory

Cross-session video memory is off by default. If you expressly enable it, Tavus may retain useful details learned during conversations so the guide can recall them later. Memory is separated by account or browser-specific identifier. You may withdraw consent and use “Delete memories” in the assistant before a call to erase saved Tavus memories.

Text-message privacy

Mobile numbers and text-message consent records are used only to deliver work-related emergency, weather, and operational alerts requested by the participating organization. Mobile information, including opt-in data and consent, is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Service providers may process information only as needed to deliver the service, such as telecommunications delivery, hosting, security, and payment processing. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.

Choice and control

You may reply STOP to any text to opt out. A manager may also withdraw consent in the workspace. Reply START to resubscribe where supported. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

Retention and security

We retain information only as long as needed for service, legal, audit, and safety purposes. Consent history may be retained to document whether messages were authorized. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Your requests and questions

To request access, correction, or deletion, email alex@cognitivewx.info, contact the organization that enrolled you, or use ISSA’s contact details in its global privacy policy. Some records may be retained where required for legal, safety, or consent-audit purposes.
